Ngun Nei Tan, JRS Computer Class Student, Vikaspuri, New Delhi, 2025.

My name is Ngun Nei Tan, and I am an asylum seeker from Myanmar. I currently live in Vikaspuri, New Delhi, with my husband and mother-in-law. Understanding the growing importance of computer skills in today’s world, I have always been eager to learn. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to enroll in the JRS computer class, which has opened new doors for my personal growth and future possibilities.

As an adult learner, grasping every detail can be challenging, but I deeply appreciate the patience and guidance of our teacher. Through this course, I have gained proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—essential skills that will serve me well in various aspects of life.

Due to my responsibility of caring for my elderly mother-in-law, I am unable to work outside my home. However, I have been contributing to my community by offering tuition classes to children. Currently, I teach 16 students across different age groups. The computer skills I am acquiring will not only enhance my own knowledge but also allow me to better support my students in their learning journey.

I have already begun applying what I have learned. At home, I practice diligently and have started creating PowerPoint presentations for church programs. Once I complete this course, I plan to expand my tuition classes and introduce computer lessons to my students. I believe this knowledge will help me in my future endeavors and empower those around me as well.

I am deeply thankful to JRS for this opportunity, which has opened doors of new opportunities for me and my community.
